Farmer's Market

We finally made it! For the six months that we have been living in CDM we have (or maybe just I have?) been wanting to make it down to the Farmer's Market- I mean it's literally at the end of our street, just a five minute walk! Yesterday we woke, and rode our bikes to get coffee and peruse through the farmer's market. As expected, it's much smaller than any Farmer's Market I've been to, but nonetheless it was pleasant to walk around. There was a handful of items that caught or eyes (like homemade pesto-yum), but we settled on the purchase of some Asparagus (cooked for dinner last night and it was delish), and some fresh cut flowers, because you can never have too many of those.

Surprise Pattys Day

I have pretty much been excited to write this post since January when my best friends from college and I decided to plan a trip to Denver to surprise Lindsey (our best friend who lives there) for St. Patty's/Her early birthday. This was the toughest secret to keep, but somehow we pulled it off without a hitch...thanks to her wonderful boyfriend, Matt!

We had a blast the whole weekend celebrating St. Patty's at the downtown festivities, eating a ton of good food, and finally heading to Boulder on Sunday. Here is how it all went down, me and three others flew in first and got to the restaurant, Tomayo, prior to her arriving for her "Anniversary Dinner for 2"...which was really a surprise dinner for 6. Forgive my amateur video skills, but you can get the just of it by watching this:

The other 4 of us arrived a few hours later for round 2 of the surprise (the best, but blurry, photo I have of the 2nd surprise with Lindsey on the left and the "surprisees" on the right).

Design Design!

Although I've always had a passion for graphic design & creativity, I've recently been even more excited to create (partly because I've treated myself to my amazing new iMac). I've really been enjoying playing around and making some new designs, so recently, I've been contemplating selling some invites/cards/announcement designs on Etsy or the like. I don't expect to make a killing off of it (i know there is a lot of competition out there!) , but I love working with different photography and color styles, so I think why not solicit my passion for this to others?

Although I've been working on many more lately, over the past few months I've had the pleasure of designing a few different cards, thanks to my wonderful older sissy who has been so nice to ask me to create some for her and her cute little fam, here's a quick snap shot of some of them:

Family Christmas Card (I also took these photos...think I just got lucky with how cute they came out!):

Easton's First Valentine:

Hopefully I'll have more to share with you soon, pending how busy I get with my "day job"!

Shoe Lovin Friday!

Happy Friday to you all! Not only am I ecstatic that it is Friday, but I am still on cloud 9 about finding this pair of shoes-pathetic, right? Ah, but I can't wait to wear them out. Is it possible to be in love with a pair of shoes? Because I think I am! Beginning last summer I was looking for the perfect pair of wedges, but couldn't find any I loved all season long. I don't like wearing shoes that are too high [even though I'm only 5'2"], or too "strappy", or that aren't comfy. I gave up. But recently when I was strolling through the mall, this pair caught my eye. I tried them on and was sold right then. I absolutely love them.

I'm seriously contemplating getting them in the other color they come in...would be perfect for Summer! Maybe I can convince my Sister or SIL to get them so we can share...convenient they are the same shoe size :)

Spring Craftery

Over the past week I have been "Spring-izing" our place. Living in small quarters only allows for a touch of decorating, but I still get so excited for every holiday.

Easter Eggs: I was at Michael's last week and stumbled upon these paper mache plain eggs and for some reason HAD to buy them. I wasn't quite sure what I was going to use them for, but I found a purpose during my sister (see her fun projects over at Things to be Stroud of) this past weekend! I painted some designs on them, added a little burlap and modge podge and threw them in a Mason Jar with some burlap on top.

Wreath [this is the 3rd season of using my twig wreath-I decorated the same one for Fall and Christmas]: I really wanted to incorporate my favorite flowers [Tulips], and I wish I could use real ones but that is just not practical! So, I was able to find some pretty real looking silk ones, and a pop of pink to add some color and I recycled the burlap I had from previous crafts for the bow.

I had bought a silk bouquet of the flowers, so I snipped them to be individual so I could place them around the wreath, then cut portions of the pink bouquet to place in between. I then just used tacky-glue to put the bow on and voilĂ !

A little touch of St. Patty's day with one of my favorite Irish blessings on the chalkboard and some miscellaneous Spring items I'm loving in my small space!
