One of the first things I thought about when we set our September date was "what flowers are in season in September?!". Maybe it's because I'm the daughter of a passionate gardner and I grew up dead heading all the plants in my backyard...whatever it is, I'm happy I have a love for flowers and can't wait to pick our wedding flowers!
Since our venue is already very green, I want flowers that will pop, and not take too much away from the natural setting. I love the contrast of green/white, and also love the traditional white bouquet. And I love the idea of white lily's or roses mixed with baby's breath. I know baby's breath is always at weddings, but I think it is so pretty and adds that nice soft touch, so we'll definitely have a lot of it!
The barn doors at our venue are the perfect spot for a baby's breath wreath, and I absolutely love the pomanders to line the aisle. So many wonderful options!
Any other September brides out there? What flowers did you have, or do you plan to have?!
White hydrangeas would be so pretty! I'm not a flower guru so I have no clue if they're even in season in September.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of white flowers in a natural green setting!! Baby's breath on the barn doors will be so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the baby's breath and white flower idea! Looove that wreath! Also in my experience, hydrangeas are low cost and are available pretty much any time of the year so you could consider those too!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this! we are doing all white flowers and I think it just has a total classic look to it! We are doing spray roses, roses, and hydrangeas. I wanted peonies, but those puppies are high dolla in September
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!!! Very classy
ReplyDeleteLove this. Such a classic look! Your blog is too cute, I just love it! :)
ReplyDeleteA word of warning babies breath is pretty stinky!! I wanted to have it as our centerpieces but my florist said the smell would be overpowering. I got married early October and we chose Dhalias and garden roses as our main flowers. Although the day of the wedding I discovered she put gerber daisies in as well and I was not too happy!
ReplyDeleteI totally approve your decision!!!!! Stunning!!
ReplyDeleteLove a baby's breath wreath - so classic! I had mostly white and green for all my florals, but a few touches of blue from hydrangeas as well - our wedding was in May though. I am sure it will be beautiful!
ReplyDeletewonderful choice! love huge chunks of baby breath!
ReplyDeleteOooh baby's breath will be so pretty!
ReplyDeleteyouuuu are speaking my language with this beautiful collage of pics!!! babys breath makes me SWOON! love. and i LOVED my traditional all white bouquet too :) i'm still obsessed with it!!! wouldn't change a thing!
ReplyDeleteYes! I'm fully intending on using LOTS of babies breath! Not only does it save a lot of money, it's so perfect for a rustic/Fall wedding! I'm even considering making the bridesmaid bouquets just babies breath. Looooove the look of those, when they are super full!
