The Florida Keys

We had yet another amazing weekend getaway this past weekend--this time in Islamorada, FL. We headed down there for the wedding of one of Alex's best friends, who I'm sad to say I'd never met before (he had been over in Afghanistan whenever I visited Alex, and since he's returned home we hadn't had the chance to make it back there).  But, I finally got to meet him and now wife, and I already can't wait to spend more time with them. I can't believe it's taken me this long to meet him, but I'm so glad I finally did! After a grueling red-eye (aka drunk lady in front of us for 5 hours straight while trying to sleep...) we hopped in our rented Mustang (yep, we were those tourists!) and rode from Miami down to the Keys, it was a beautiful ride.  It was truly an all around awesome weekend in one of the prettiest places I've ever visited, with some really great people. Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs.!

Vino Tasting

This weekend I headed to wine country with a couple of my girlfriends (not Napa...but the next best thing for us Southern Californians). We headed out toward Temecula where it is such a peaceful and beautiful setting. We had perfect weather and a great time visiting and sipping on some delicious vino.

 

It was a quick trip, but much needed. Hope everyone had an amazing weekend & happy monday, ugh (at least it's only a 4 day week for me, yippe!)

[2] Girls Getaway. Tomorrow a couple of us are headed for a quick girls getaway, and I can't wait for a little escape!

[3] Tulips. My favorite flower, finally in season again. Having a vase of tulips around puts a smile on my face and I'm so happy they're baaaaaack!

[4] Birthday Cake Oreos. Have you tried these? If not, don't. Unless you're okay with eating a whole pack-they are addicting.

Wedding Wednesday: Shoe Decision

When it comes to my wedding shoes I have such mixed feelings. Part of me wants to get an absolutely beautiful pair that totally screams "wedding", but my wallet and my feet think differently. I mean really, the only reason I want really pretty ones if for pictures (let's be honest). All I really care is that they're cute and comfy...it's just not THAT important to me. And since our venue is almost entirely grass, I'm wearing of getting a really "spikey" heel. But, I'm not sure I want to be wearing wedges in my dress. So, I've been looking for a happy medium. Although a few of these are out of my price range, it's still fun to look!

Sun Wear.

With the recent "winter weather" (and by that I mean the first and only few "stormy" days we had last weekend--yes all you East Coasters...go ahead and roll your eyes at my use of winter weather) I am so looking forward to our weekend getaway in just a short week and a half! We're going to the Florida Keys to one of Alex's best friend's weddings -- I have still yet to find the perfect "wedding goer" dress, so if you have any links, send 'em my way!

These are some of my recent purchases that I can't wait to break out in the warmer weather. I have been swooning over all things periwinkle and hot pink lately...don't ask me why.
